Distance: ~ 15km
8:30: Meet up with your local guide at the hotel or our office, we can pick you up at your hotel and start trekking.Â
Starting from the main road we followed a small road down the valley to Y Linh Ho village settled by the Muong Hoa stream and from here to Lao Chai village of the Black H’mong.
Here, we will see another world as the atmosphere in Y Linh Ho village is very quiet, no bustling like tourist attractions inside Sapa town. Coming to the village, visitors will be immersed in the natural scenery of the beautiful unspoiled countryside with green cornfields, rice terraced fields with the Hoang Lien Son mountain range standing like a giant wall filled on the surface and Muong Hoa stream. The simple stilt houses in the heart of the mountain, typical of mountainous ethnic people.
Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They have their own language and wear traditional indigo blue clothing, besides, rudimentary houses, stone walls around the home will make visitors feel interesting, and with lifestyles, beliefs unique to the H’mong people.
12:00: Having lunch in a local restaurant of H’mong people in Lao Chai village with special local foods.
Lao Chai is a village located deep in the valley, surrounded by mountains and unique terraced fields, stretching to the door of the house, seemingly like silk ribbons. From Lao Chai, you look far away and you will see the Hoang Lien Son range, the other side is the Ham Rong range. Let’s try traditional foods here to refill energy.
13:00: Continue the journey to Ta Van village (1.200m) to visit Giay (Giáy) people.Â
Ta Van village is home to the Mong ethnic group for a long time, in addition, there are also Red Dao and Giay people. Besides the rice terraces nearby Muong Hoa stream, the corn hills, Ta Van is also the busiest village with the lifestyles of many ethnic groups, there are sidewalks on the streets, and pretty homestays.
Giay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green color. The Giay houses are built of wood and bamboo with a clay floor.
14:30: After visiting Ta Van village, walk to unique Giang Ta Chai village.
Giang Ta Chai village has a trapezoidal shape located halfway up the mountain at an altitude of 1,400m. The waterfall in the forest makes for a poetic landscape aligned with rice, and the mountain looks picturesque.
In the village, there are Red Dao households living, like many other mountainous people, they also cultivate and raise livestock. In addition, the Red Dao people also develop traditional crafts, unique culture.
15:30: Final destination is Hau Thao
Hau Thao has the fields spreading along the mountainside, going all the way to the stream bank, crept next to the forests creating a very impressive scene. A picture of a highland with rolling clouds and mountains, rice terraces. One of the factors that make up the attraction of Hau Thao commune in Sapa is the beautiful sea of white clouds that visitors easily encounter to explore.
